My 21 year old Potterton Netaheat 10/16 will only ignite at the begining of each time setting when it has a few sharp hard bangs on the outside of its casing, it will then continue firing up during its setting time span until the start of its next setting. The casing has been off and boiler cleaned. What are the possible causes for this lack of initial igniting
Thanks mike gasman. It is certainly much better. now starts nearly every time. The wiring was also sprayed with special wiring connection spray. When it does not light up and one then gives a sharp thump on outside casing inline with the pressure switch it lights up - could this indicate that the diapham in the pressure switch has become weak or does the timing switch settings need their electrical wires spraying also.
