Mend Renault Grand Scenic Heater Working Access

Heater Fan not working in a Rwnault Grand Scenic 2004?

Hello,
does anybody know how I might gain access to the heater fan in a Renault Grand Scenic. Access to anything in this car is very restricted. The fan in our car has stopped working and I suspect it might be either a relay or a connector problem. It is a real problem in this cold wet weather

I don't want to take it to Renault garage if i can avoid it - cost and time

Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Joe

Our grand scenic 06 plate, fan packed in and a bill of £350 is glaring at us..Mechanic telling us that this is a very "common" problem, which sounds like a manufacturing fault, should do something about this to take this issue with Renault.

A quick fix to get the heater fan working is to remove the passenger glovebox and look up on the lefthand side of the centre consol and you will see the two wires that power the heater fan(1 red &1 black), if you pull out the plug from the motor body and cut the black wire at about 10-12cm from the plug you can fit a round crimp connector to the black wire that is still attached to the plug and earth it to the dashboard chassis for an earth. you will only have speed 4 on your fan but the air con still works

my 04 scenic's fan has stopped working dose not work on any setting. I have checked the fuse and all the wiring is ok. Phoned the renault dealer and they want £60 just to look at at. Anybody know what else it could be and if a novice like myself could fix it?

it might be a bit late but mine stopped working and it was the resistor pack and to get to it you take the digital clocks out of the dash and its tight but on the right hand side there is a gap just big enough to reach in ! if you get a bright torch youwill be able to see a plug which goes into the heater body you can pull this out and you will see 2 screws ! remove these and this will release the resistor pack and just the reverse to refit !! hope this helps adi..

Ours stopped working on setting 4. When we had it checked at service the electrician shoed us a burnt connector and wiring. It had been on fire and we hadn't noticed. It was cut and disconnected prior to replacement as a safety concern. the wiring used b renault is apparently not sufficent for the heaterswitch and melted causing the fire. I would suggest that you get this looked at as soon as possible

Hi, our 2005 grand scenic has just done the same this weekend - we have the climate control pack and the fan symbols work ok but no fan! 40 amp fuse is ok - sadly! The car is 1 month out of warranty so might try and plead with Renault - if anybody knows of a quick fix then I'll have a look myself. Any ideas anybody?

Not an answer sadly, but take heart, you are not alone. Mine died this morning. Checked fuse? My fuse was OK sadly, but you may have better luck
