the 2 condensators in the powersuply section on the pcb are dried out. Just replace them. costs 2,00 euro

I've got similar problems. Been looking around the net and it looks like you need to replace the control board which is hidden behind the plastic front where the LEDs are. This is Whirlpool part number 481245228847. I'm trying to track down that part myself as I have moved from England to New Zealand...
