once the engine is out and you,ve removed head barrel and piston drain g/box oil lay engine on a piece of old carpet remove clutch casing clutch and basket assembly also the nut and cogs and suare woodroof key off the end of the crankshaft then turn over so magneto is faceing you remove mag and electrics you,ll need a puller to remove mag then undo all crank casing bolts then carfully split the casings this can be awkward as the main bearings are tight fitting on the crank and in the casings but take a little time and carefully get them apart then the gearbox will be left sat in the bottom casing be carefull the seletors dont fall out when parting the casings look at their relavent positions i hope this helps
