how to decrease water pressure from a valliant boiler?

how to decrease water pressure from a valliant boiler? i turned the tap on to increase the water pressure in the boiler as it was on 0 bar, and put too much in by accident, it went up to 2 bar and now when the boiler goes on the needle goes into the red area.

The obvious answer is to let some water out of the system - the easy way is to let the water out from the radiator bleed valves but this does take a while. A quicker way is to undo the valve nut as it goes into the radiator (any convenient one) but have a drip tray ready!
