Replacing the engine (from a breakers yard) would be slightly more work, but probably cheaper. Personally, I'd just buy another car, it's not worth the hassle for a car worth a few hundred quid.

oh dear!! how much is your sole worth??? coz its most likely to have taken out the velves as well, and that could mean a new cilinder head, and thats a very big ouch in ££££££££££££££££
