OR you could do it the simple way. All over the 'net there is people telling you to buy ford-specific tools. Forget that! Get one of those big cutters meant for trimming hedges and cutting thick branches, and just physically schred off the front panel, then use it to physically force the unit out.
Why not? You're not going to reuse or sell the casette player anyways, and unless you're dumb it won't leave visible marks on the car. Money, time and hassle saved from buying task-specific non-reusable pointless tools.
And what is needed for the rest of the mounting; Get a Ford Escort CD mounting rack, because your new player is smaller then the old one and you need to fill the empty space. If you get the same one i've got (else you won't understand this) - you don't need that long thing, there's allready one in the car on the top. Use the little thing with the thing allready in the car and with the rubber thing in the middle of the back of the CD player, sliding the thing onto the long thing when you slide the player in. You'll understand this if it applies to you!
You also need a Ford-to-ISO converter because the Ford don't use standard ISO, those you get cheap asking anywhere or ordering online.
