won't dial number?

I have a panasonic kkfhd331 fax machine. It will not dial any numbers. you push on the keys they do not do any thing you can use them for just about anything else though any ideas?

Confirm phone line is active by lifting the handset phone to see if you can hear dial tone -> if not call phone company

If you have dial tone confirm that phone "cord" is good AND it is plugged into the correct port on the back of the fax, should be marked [LINE].

If not this easy, most likely a LCU PCA... at which point it will cost just as much to fix as it will to replace.
