mercedes 310 sprinter t reg?

loss of power & white smoke that smells like diesel running great til yesterday any help would be great thanks

IT is almost certainly the injector with the wire attaching to it. Either change the injector £275 or take it out and feed the wire to anoher injector. The usual place for the electronic injector is number 2.

my 310 sprinter fails to go over 60 mph? its a 2000 v reg, and i have just had it serviced by mercedes at 177000 miles! any ideas what thiscould be?

yes. my old sprinter 310 was blowing white diesel smoke making my eyes sting. wouldn't rev high but pulled well at low revs. Number 1 injector has that mystery wire coming from it. when the injector fails, the timing is jammed fully retarded but the injector still fuels the engine. it cost me £400 to find that out and have it fixed. I kept the injector in case any other one fails.

i keep changing the glow plugs for mercedes sprinter 310 but it get dammage after few days

i have the same problem and after foolishly thinking it was the turbo because the symtems are a tell tale sign the turbo as packed in, it isnt the turbo more lkley it is the scraper rings in the pistons, is it belowing smoke if you take the filer cap of is it chugging like a train if so it is the rings letting to much oil in the chambers, either a new engine or a cheap engineer will sort this out, gooooooooood luck
