I just changed the belt on mine, same model-LWA60AW,
UNPLUG WASHER FIRST!You first remove the two screws located at the bottom of the front panel, then gently pull the panel foward and down,(set it aside)then disconnect the two hoses,(just loosen the band clamps, then on the left side of the motor is where the curcuit plug is,it has a finger press hold at the top of it,gently pull it out, then using a rachet and 8"extension and 1/2" socket, remove the two bolts holding the motor and pump from the drum and the two bolts from the base of the drum, then slightly push the drum up and back to allow you to pull the motor and pump out, then turn the pump over and using a tors
5 point tip/driver,remove the 3 torques head screws, lift of pump, you need to buy a 30" belt,(Ace Hardware carries unversal belts for $5.99 as of 8/1/08.
When putting the belt back on take into consideration the tension pulley, the backside of the belt rides against this and the belt MUST go on the outside of one of the "legs" of the water pump when reattaching the pump, then re-install the motor/pump but don't reattach the two hoses untill you lay on your stomach and reach into the base of the drum to the big pulley and slip the belt around it,you will need to slightly turn it to get the belt to slip on,then reattach the two hoses and before you put the front panel on,plug the curcuit plug into motor and plug washer back into the 110 outlet and turn the dial to spin and close lid to engage it to be sure it's working, then put the front panel back on and you're good for another 10 years.
