How do i change a headlight bulb on a ford focus 02 model off side?

I took the battery cover off, then the headlight cover off, which was straightforward, then the fun started, tried to take the bulb out, but the limited space found it near impossible, apparently there is a clip holding the bulb in, but try as I might I couldn't get off, my son is a mechanic, it took him about 30 seconds to get the clip undone and put the new bulb in place, the clip is on the right hand side of the bulb, press and lift up to release, the clip releases to replace the bulb, it will take a few tries, but I'm sure when my headlight bulb needs replacing I will be able to perform the procedure with a little more confidence.!!!!!!!!!

If you are an amature at fix-it-yourself, definitely bite the bullet as suggested below. Two years ago I spent a couple of hours trying (I'm stubborn) before giving up.

If you have the tools and talent, you'll find an answer (to another, related question?) which gives the details about messing with the grill and battery rack. Good luck.

BTW, I was told last time that if you let one go, the other will follow in a short time, which happened to me.

I called out the AA. They were really good. It took the guy about 20 minutes in the dark. He said it was pretty hard but not nearly as bad a job as changing a bulb for a Renault Megane.

With great difficulty. You have to take bits off the battery cover and generally grovel about with a toolkit (or pay a main dealer for 30 minutes labour + parts)
