scantronic 9427 keeps going off?

Hi, my issue with this alarm is that when i set it to go to bed, with zones active downstairs with garage and door sensors active, the alarm waits about 10-20 minutes then goes to full alarm!! I have had the alarm for about 12 years and has not been serviced (through ignorance, i thought internal wiring would be fine!!) any solutions or ideas would be appreciated.

Hi, sorry for late reply, been waiting for battery off Amazon. Changed the battery (the large black one inside box) and still goes off after isolating upstairs zone after about 10 minutes :(

Any other advice would be appreciated.

turn mains power off remove the screws that hold cover on end station,carefully remove the battery,get yourself a new one,carefully refit the wires to the battery terminsals,red to red,black to black,fit cover back on,fully,turn mains back on,reset the panel

12 years oh goody...if it's all bloated or twisted out of all proportions then can I have it for my collection?,
