Maxent 42in plasma no picture or audio?

I have a 42 inch Maxent plasma tv model name MX-42XM11 model number P420142X1 with a no picture and sound situation. I plugged in my dvd player and all that happens is a blue screen. I have noticed that when i hook up a S video cable the letter "S" will appear on the screen. so the tv is recognizing that something is hooked up. also when i go to the menu screen and go to audio settings, and when i switch the audio from fixed to variable I do get a split second sound from the speakers but thats about all. So i pulled the back panel and noticed a buzzing sound coming from the YSUS board. Under closer inspection I notice some little burnt areas on and around the electronic connections on the YSUS board. My question is, Could a bad YSUS board cause a no picture and no audio situation on a plasma tv? any help would be great thanks
