Are you sure you are not just being told that you need to rescan? In settings there will be an option to rescan for channels. This updates your box and ensures all the channels you can receive in your area are listed.
What is "my Freeview"? Is it some kind of set top box? Please tell us the make and model. That way we'll be able to search for it and see if there's any kinds of announcements been made. Or, of course, you could do the searching.
