How can i fix an LCD Monitor power fault?

I have a GNR LCD monitor with an intermitten power fault, keeps flickering on and off which includes the green led. Its defently the monitor as this does this even when its not connected to a pc.
I have opened up the case but can not see any bad capacitors or any parts looking damaged.
Please advise what i should try to fix this problem.
Thank You

well the chances are that it is a "dried out" capacitors this is VERY common fault with switched mode power supplies, however it could also be a shot circuit transistor in the lamp inverter, but i would almost guarantee that caps are the problem,

Unfortuantly the monitor is out of warranty. What is the charger? al i have is a kettle type lead with this monitor.

I think the problem is not with the monitor, the problem is the charger that is connected to it. It may be damaged or broken inside.

suggestions: I think you if you have guarantee or warranty you should go to the dealer that sold it to you and ask him to test the charger. If they cannot fix any products go to an electric store which fixes computers and stuff and ask them to test the charger.
If they say its faulty just buy a new charger and see if it works, if it still doesnt go to a repair shop and fix it.(Or you can get it free if you have guarantee with the product).

Note: i think opening the monitor up was not a useful idea and can damage the whole screen if a wire was moved and electric shocks can occur.
