Look on the back of the clock. There is a square board with a couple of screws. Remove it. Now look toward the top of the back and there is the 'sound' board. Remove the screws on each end of the board and remove the sound board with the sound tines. Look toward the front of the clock and remove the plywood backing to the face. Now look down onto the works and see two screws holding the works in place. Remove those screws and the works should slide out. Remove the weights from the chains first. I use a bread twist tie to tie the chains together after removing the weights but not really necessary. Now you can fix the chain problem. Good Luck.
