my battery light comes on when i rev up my ford mondeo, mrk 2, 1800 diesel, Y reg, its not the alternator or battery as it starts ok and runs ok and no differance when light come on :(
started to do it a couple of days ago at high reves then gradualy its come down to about 10,000 revs (number one one the clock)
could this be a warning for oil presure, or another warning, or a sevice light its doing my head in and dont say take it to a ford garage iv no money :(
my mk3 mondeo battery light comes on and then the dials reset and goes blank then comes back to life for a while is ther a fix for this that anyone knows of cheers

i have diesal endura engine and when i rev the engine to about 3000 revs the battery light comes on but the allternator was changed about 3 months ago i do know the battery is faulty but would this cause this thanks

Mondeo battery light comes on at high revs.
This is caused by a faulty alternator. I had the same problem on my Mk2 V6.
Apparently the alternator has 2 sections and one failed. It was charging OK at low speeds/revs but the light was flickering and then stayed on as speed/revs went up.
Only solution - new alternator (or as in my case - one from a scrap dealer). Pig of a job to change on V6 model as it has to be done from underneath the car.

My Mk2 V6 started to do this at high Revs, then worked it's way down the rev range. The car started and ran as normal until one day the light came on as I was just doing about 20mph in the high street. I stopped the engine, then tried to start it again but the battery was flat. I needed a new altenator which sorted it out. Been fine for over a year now.
