Mend Hotpoint WK767 Tumble Red Water

How can my WK767 Tumble Dryer be fixed?

The red light comes on indicating the water container is full and the machine stops. However the water container is empty. The engineer has called four times and states that since replacing the drum the microswitch is not engaging properly. He has tried adding packing to the rear wall but this only works for 10 minutes and the machine stops again. What is the solution?
