why will my beosound 3200 not load cd's?

Im an engineer fixing most things electronic but this one gets me. I have a 3200 here that has no errors but will only spin the cd one rotation then open the lid. No error messages so I swapped the laser and it does the same. My guess is it is either an issue with its storage as it still plays its previous stored CD's but won't play new ones. This thing is a bit of a monster as you would guess from its price and unnecessary complexity. I think it worth about a tenth of its original cost (£4750 at UK prices) but as such no matter what you do with it it isn't really possible to diagnose or fix from what I can tell unless you send it back to B&O who will obviously charge you for having the audacity to buy and then try and use such a piece of crap!

You need a new CDM12.4 laser - less than $25 on ebay if you're nimble and careful enough to change it yourself.
I bought mine from searchmeonline on ebay. No probs.

I have 2500, for about 13 yrs,. my CD did same thing, took it into B & O regional repair - It's $587 to fix CD and track mechanism (it' corrolated, don't fix CD only, track may stop working too) - Sorry for bad news - I search all of Google and this is only answer

Hi Mark,

I'm looking for that very answer but in regards to my BeoSound 2000. Everything else works fine. I'd very much appreciate help from anyone out there who might have knowledge of a quick fix or troubleshooting before I hand over the big bucks to a tech because I haven't a clue.
