Mend Dual Flush Toilet Cistern

How do I remove the top section of the cystern on the new dual flush loo?

I am loosing water through the overflow of my new dual flush toilet and wish to now how I can adjust the water level in the tank so when it fills there is adequate water to flush but not too higher level in the tank to overflow.

Press down and hold the small button, use a screw driver in the small indent to lever the large button up. Pull it all the way out and then repeat to pull out the small button. This reveals a screw that allows you to remove the chrome ring and the top of the cistern.
