I have a Schneider STV 280-T and after pushing the "on" switch it makes a bleeping noise - no picture - no sound. I have checked the socket and fuse on the plug but no joy...could it be a fuse inside the tv?

I have been told by two repair shops that it is the "line out" transformer and it is a common breakdown with these TV's. Quoted £70 and £78 to repair (includes part VATand labour).
The question now is, is it worth repairing?
Can anyone tell me where I can order the part and give me instructions on how to replace it?

GTG What is CRT, before I go looking it up?!
I too have exactly the same problem, same make, same age of telly, no solution as of yet.

Sorry this is not an answer but I have the same problem with my Schneider STV280 T and it's only just 4 years old. Sounds like it's the CRT but will post if I find any info.
