How do I fix my 2650e Ebac dehumidifier?

I have a 2650e ebac and it turns on fine; only problem it is not collecting any water. Air filter is clean and fine. Ebac engineers say to bin it as too old and doesn't make sense to repair. I think it might be the compressor that's faulty. Any ideas?

Plugged my 2650e first time for autumn this last week. Growled abit-slow fan with leds flickering, then nothing.
Took apart and tested. Faulty IC, TNY253gn, 400 6.8uf capacitor , and 220 ohm resistor{red,red,brown,gold 5% tolerence).
All bought of ebay,two separate suppliers, total cost £4.70 inc post. Soldered in today,06/10/19, all up and running.

I have a dead 2650e.
Checked the compressor with direct ac power, works fine.
The DDA475 pcb was at fault.
A tiny hole is visible with magnifying glass on the TNY253 8 leg IC which is the power supply to the board. Also the 22 ohm mo safety resistor is open circuit.
Attempting external dc to see if the rest of the board warrants trying to get the IC and resistor.

Replace the capacitor on the printed circuit board . 400v 2.2 uf is what you need

My ebac 2650e is not very old stored it under the stairs & when I took it out controls do not work it starts then cuts out, but if you hold down the controls for 20 secs max works only. Any advice welcome

Sorry not an answer but to add a voice regarding unreliable circuit boards. I have had 3 circuit board fails on 2 2000e series dehumidifiers. My very first Ebac had no PCB and seemed to last forever!

I have a 2650e which has gone wrong twice but it has a 5 year warranty. Before spending any money, I would check that your warranty is still within the 5 year period.

Well, looks like there's something wrong with the design of the 2800 series pcb.
I own 2 Ebac's, one 2650e which has been running for 7 years 24/7 without any problem. The other one is a 2850e, which broke down just after 2 years use. Like most of you reported, the pcb of my 2850e also has 2 black (burned) components.

After 3 years' satisfactory use (is this an acceptable life-span?) my 2850e Ebac dehumidifier's PCB failed - inspection showed some blackening of components. New board from Ebac cost me £53. I returned the old board to Ebac asking them why it had failed. They said they couldn't diagnose it . . . And be aware that Ebac's UK Customer Service response to their 'Contact Us' email address is very, very slow (ditto to letters). Only when I had emailed 4 times and stated that in the absence of a reply I would be writing to their managing director did I elicit a reply - which made no apology for non-response to the earlier emails.

I have had the same problem with 2800e model. The circuit board DDA272 has burnt components in two places. It looks as though contamination (dust) has caused leakage across tracks causing components to fail - poor design. I have contacted Ebac and they can replace the PCB for a rip-off price of £56. I asked if a circuit diagram of the PCB could be supplied so I could diagnose it - no response. Currently I am looking at bypassing the control board so as to get some use out of the dam thing before it goes for landfill. I have purchased a DeLonghi Dehumidifier - excellent. Don't by an Ebac, unreliable and no support when you need it.

I have the same problem with my 2800ex just out of it's 1 year guarantee, the circuit board is black in two places,look on the web for pcb/module repairs.

I would like to know the same. Mine has broken and i cannot afford a replacement.
The ebac makes a noise when turned on, but the lights on the display buttons do not light up (or work).
I have looked at the circuit board and there appears to be a tiny small part of it that has gone black (so i can only presume it has burnt out and that is why it does not work).
Do i have any chance of fixing this thing or should i consign it to the scrap heap?
