2. Points to Notice
路 Connect to AC mains only but never to DC or other power supplies because Automatic Voltage Regulator is built in the unit. (Refer the specified power rating to the back plate of this unit.)
路 To avoid fire or electricity leakage, never place the unit near your kitchen or any place where water easily splashes over or drips on it.
路 Locate the unit in a place where light does not strike directly on its screen because light reflection could cause eyestrain. Entirely dark surrounding is also not suitable for watching TV so soft and indirect lighting is recommended.
路 Allow enough space between the back of the unit and the wall to permit proper ventilation to prevent the failure of electronic components. Also, do not place it in an excessively hot location.
路 To prevent picture’s purity from being affected by the magnetic field of speaker, never put the unit near any external speakers without shielding cover.
路 To prevent pre-recorded videotapes from being damaged in the course of TV degaussing, do not locate your VCR too close to the unit.
路 Clean the screen and cabinet of the unit only with a cloth moistened with water or detergent but never use any other chemicals. Remember to turn the unit off before starting cleaning.
路 Automatic Degaussing: Each time the unit is turned on with the Power On/Off Button; the automatic degaussing circuitry would function very shortly to purge out the residual magnetism on the CRT’s metal parts. This ensures the picture more clear and alive. If it
has been moved to other positions or changed in other directions, first turn its main switch
off for at least one hour and then turn it on again.
3. How to use Function Menus
First, insert the power line cord plug of the TV unit into an appropriate AC socket and then the antenna or closed circuit cable plug into the antenna input terminal of the TV unit.
3.1. Turn on and off the TV unit
Press the Power Switch Button once to turn the TV unit on; press again to turn it off. When the TV unit is turned on, press the Standby Button of the remote control to turn it into standby mode. If the TV unit is in standby mode, simply press the Standby Button to turn it into operation mode.
Attn.: Turn the TV unit off with the Power Switch Button
● if not watching TV for a long period such as sleeping or going out.
● if power failure takes place while watching TV.
3.2. Main Menu
The five menus will be shown in turn if pressing the Menu Button successively.
PICTURE SOUND SETUP
CLOCK TUNE
In AV mode, the ‘TUNE’ menus are not available.
3.2.1. Program Presetting
Press the Menu Button of the TV unit or the remote
control successively until it reaches the ‘TUNE’ menu.
3.2.1-A. AUTO-SEARCH
Press the P+ or P- Button to move the arrowhead pointer to
to the “AUTO-SEARCH” item after entering the “TUNE’
menu; then the V+ Button to start auto searching.
It automatically searches, tunes and stores all the
Programs in the local area, starting from Position No. 0.
Attn.: If some channels cannot be tuned or satisfactorily received, please use “Manu-SEARCH” or “FINE TUNE” to store those channels.
3.2.1-B. MENU-SEARCH
First press the P+ or P- Button to move the arrowhead pointer to the “Channel” item and then the V+ or V- Button to select a channel number in which you want to store a TV channel. If the band is not the one you need, press the P+ or P- Button to move the arrowhead pointer to the “Band” item and then the V+ or V- Button to select the appropriate band.
Press again the P+ or P- Button to move the arrowhead pointer to the “Manu-search” item and then the V+ or V- Button to start manual searching. When it has searched a channel which is not the one you desire, press the V+ or V- Button to continue. When it has searched the channel you desire, it stops there and stores it automatically. If you want to search and store another TV program, repeat the above steps.
3.2.1-C. FINE TUNE
If a TV program is not properly received in terms of poor picture or sound, press the P+ or P- Button to move the arrowhead pointer to the “FINE TUNE” item and then the V+ or V- Button to improve it until the best reception is obtained.
3.2.1-D. SKIP
If you want to skip a TV program, press the P+ or P- Button to move the arrowhead pointer to the “CHANNEL” item and then the V+ or V- Button to select the TV program in terms of the position number. Press again the P+ or P- Button to move the arrowhead pointer to the “SKIP” item and then the V+ or V- Button to change its status from OFF to ON. It will be skipped when using the P+ or P- Button to search the stored TV programs. If you want to skip another program,
Simply repeat the above steps.
3.2.1-E. Colour system
Press P+ / P- to select C sys and V+ / V- to adjust.
Normally it is set to AUTO

Press p+/p- to select s sys and v+/v- to set B/G D/K or I
3.2.1-G. AFC SYSTEM
It is used to turn to on/off auto frequency tracing
3.2.2. Picture Adjustment
Press the Menu Button of the TV unit or the remote
control, then press V+ /V- select the ‘Pic’ menu.
Then press the P+ or P- Button to move the
arrowhead pointer to a item among BRIGHT,
CONTRAST, COLOUR, SHARP and TINT (Note: TINT is only
is only available when it is of NTSC system.) in the
menu you want to adjust and the V+ or V- Button to
enhance or reduce its effect.
3.2.3. SETTING MENU
Press the Menu Button of the TV unit or the remote control, then press V+ /V- Select the ‘SETUP’ menu.
3.2.3-A LANGUAGE (optional)
First press the P+ or P- Button to move the arrowhead pointer to the “Language” item and then the V+ or V- Button to select Chinese and English
3.2.3-B BLUE SCREEN
First press the P+ or P- Button to move the arrowhead pointer to the “Blue back” item and then the V+/ V- Button to select blue screen and disable blue,
3.2.3-C CHILDREN LOCK
Enabling children lock function will disable all keys
of the TV set. TO close the children lock function, it
is necessary to call out children lock function by
pressing the menu key of the remote control and set
it to OFF.(Pressing v+ / v- to set the function to ON
or OFF)
3.2.3-E Draw-the-curtain
With the Draw-the-curtain setting at ON, there will be draw the curtain action when starting the unit. Then V+/ V- selected ON or OFF.
3.2.3-F Start-up and searching
When setting this “POW SEACH” to ON and turning off AC the unit, auto full scale searching starting from program 0 and ended to program 0 will start at the next time of start up AC, auto searching will not repeat from the second time of start-up. The default setting of the unit is at OFF in the factory.
3.2.3-G Screen saver (optional)
Select screen saver to protect the screen when there is no signal to the unit. If screen saver and LOGO are effective simultaneously, screen saver will take super priority. The V+/ V- to selected ON or OFF.
3.2.3-H LOGO (optional)
It is used to control the indication of LOGO during start-up and when there is no signal to the unit. The V+/ V- to select ON or OFF.
3.2.3-I Program exchange
Press the P+ or P- Button to move the arrowhead pointer to the “EXCHANGE” item,
Then V+ first to allow the right side of the menu to become red, input the program number to be exchanged and press v+ again to confirm the selection and the exchange between the input channels, as soon as the input figure becomes larger then 256,the unit will return input mode.
3.2.4 Sound menu
Press P+/P- to select “VOLUME” item, press V+/V- to change the parameter of the item. Press, the adjustment scope of parameter adjustment ranges from 0-99
3.2.5 CLOCK Presetting
Press the Menu Button of the TV unit or the remote
control ,then press V+/V- selected the ‘CLOCK’
item (Attn.: All functions in the ‘CLOCK’ menu
only work when the TV unit is in operation or
standby mode. In other words, they will be erased
when the TV unit is turned off using the Power On/Off
Button.)
3.2.5-A. Real Clock
Press the P+ or P- Button to move the arrowhead pointer to the “clock” item. Then press
P+/P- move the arrowhead pointer to --/-- on the “clock” right side, press the V+/V- button to preset hour and minute
Attn.: 1.The clock function is for reference only & not intended as accurate clock.
2. It is not able to preset other functions in the “TIME” menu unless the real clock has been preset and works.
3.2.5-B. On Timer
Press the P+ or P- Button to move the arrowhead pointer to the “TIME ON” item, Then press P+/P- move the arrowhead pointer to --/-- on the “TIME ON” right side, press the V+/V- button to preset hour and minute. The TV unit will turn into operation mode from standby mode when the preset on time comes up.
3.2.5-C. Off Timer
Press the P+ or P- Button to move the arrowhead pointer to the “TIME OFF” item, Then press P+/P- move the arrowhead pointer to --/-- on the “TIME OFF” right side, press the V+/V- button to preset hour and minute, The TV unit will turn into standby mode from operation mode when the preset off-time comes up.
3.2.5-D. CHANNEL
This function operates together with the channel time above. After a position number and the above channel time have been preset, the TV unit will jump to that number when the channel time comes up.
Press the P+ or P- Button to move the arrowhead pointer to the “BESPOKE-POSITION” item and then the V+ or V- Button to select the position
Number you desire.

4.1 Mute Button ( )
Press this button once to mute the TV unit and again to restore sound.
4.2 TV/ V (Button)
Press this button to change from TV mode to AV mode, or back to TV mode.

4.3 Direct Channel Position Select Buttons
Press the number key directly to select one digit channel number.
4.4 Digit Select Button (--/-)
For a two-digit position number, first press this button once, the screen will display a sign (--). Then press the Direct Number (0-9) Buttons to select the channel number you want.
4.5 Menu Button
Press the Menu button successively it will display Picture, Audio, System, Option, Clock and Preset menus in turn. You can adjust the value of the corresponding items to meet your requirement.
4.6 Channel + or - Buttons
You can adjust channel number by pressing P+/P- keys respectively.
4.7 Game Button
Press this button to enter and exit game mode, when entering a game, this starting picture of the game together with the operation.
4.8 Calendar Button
Press the “CALE” button enter calendar item, press the V+ or V- Button to select
year month day, then press the P+ or P- Button to select number of year month and day.
Attn: Select change between 1950 and 2050.
4.9 Standby Button
In standby mode, press this button once to turn the TV unit into operation mode and again back to standby mode.
4.10 Previous Channel Recall Button
Press this button ( ) to swap the current TV program for the previous one.
4.11 Status Display Button
Press this button once, the screen will display the current TV program number, colour system, sound system, clock and sleep time (Attn: the clock and sleep time must have been preset.).
After 5 seconds, it only display the TV program number in small size.
4.12 Volume + or - Buttons
You can adjust volume by pressing V+/V- keys respectively
4.13 Personal Preset Button
There are four colour settings for your selection with the name Personal Preset, Light, Standard and Vivid. The later three kinds have been preset by the producer and you can save your favourite colour combination into Personal Preset for your convenience.
4.14 SLEEP
Press this button to preset the sleep time. Press it successively, the sleep time will change in 5 minute units cyclically as shown below:

The TV unit will automatically turn into standby mode when the preset sleep time arrived.
5. How to prepare for Operation
5.1. Insert the plug of the 75-ohm antenna cable or the 300-75 ohm converter in the antenna terminal on the back of the TV unit.
5.2. Connect video devices to the video/audio terminals on the back of the TV unit.
Installing or replacing batteries in Remote Control Handset
A. First turn the remote control handset upside-down; with the under side facing upwards, place thumb on the textured part of the battery cover and then push it outwards to open the battery compartment.
B. Put two “AA” dry batteries with the correct polarities as indicated in the battery compartment.
C. Close the battery cover.
6. Safety Instruction & Maintenance
6.1. Ensure your local power supply and AC outlet socket is suitable for the TV unit. The power rating is shown on the back cover of the TV.
6.2. Do not remove the TV cabinet other than service personnel.
6.3. Do not splash any liquid over the TV unit.
6.4. Do not block the ventilation holes on the back cover with any objects.
6.5. Unplug the TV unit if not watching for a long period.
6.6. Unplug the TV unit prior to cleaning. Do not use any corrosive solvent. Do not leak any solvent on the printed circuit board in the TV unit.
6.7. During thunder and lightning storm, pull the plug of AC line cord and of the antenna cable out.
6.8. Do not attempt to fix or disassemble the unit.
6.9 To disconnect the TV from the power supply, use the MAIN SWITCH. To operate, depress the switch, when the power indicator (located near the switch) is illuminated, the switch is in the ON position, when the indicator is not illuminated, the switch is in the OFF position.
6.10 Clean the TV with a cloth moistened with water or detergent but never use solvents or chemicals. Remember to turn off the unit before cleaning.
6.11 Normal ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items such as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains, etc.
6.12 Do not place naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, on this TV.
6.13 The unit must not be exposed to dripping or splashing. Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on this TV.
7. Trouble Shooting
First carry out some simple check-ups prior to asking for repair service.
SYMPTOMS CHECK-UP
No Picture, No Sound - Check whether the AC line cord is properly connected to AC outlet. - Check whether the Power On/Off Button is turned on. - Check whether contrast, brightness and volume are at their minimum level. If yes, adjust them to a higher level. - Press the Standby Button to check whether it works normally. - Check whether the video devices (if in AV mode) are properly connected. - Check whether headphone is plugged in.
Snowy Picture - Check whether the cable of the outdoor antenna is damaged. - Check whether the outdoor antenna is properly connected and placed in the correct location and direction. - Carry out fine tuning.
Normal Picture but no sound - Press the V+ Button to adjust volume to a high level. - Check with the remote control whether the mute is in effect.
No Colour or Abnormal Colour - Check whether Colour is correctly adjusted. - Check whether the TV Colour system is properly selected.
Colour Spots but Normal Sound - May be subjected to electromagnetic interference from nearby unshielded objects. - The TV unit has been moved when it is switched on.
Spots or Streaks Interference - May arise from other local sources such as other electric appliances, motorcars, neon lamps, etc. Adjust the outdoor antenna to reduce it to the minimum.
Ghost - May arise from the reflection from the hills or tall buildings. Check the outdoor antenna including direction, location or connection.
Remote Control Malfunction - Batteries have run out. - Batteries are installed in wrong polarities.
Poor Tint - Tint may be wrongly adjusted.
