One of the disks I use to store my photos on has been scratched. Is there a way I can get data off the disk even though my computer normally won't read it?
you can use any type of wax including leather wax or the brand called cherry leather wipes.put the disk in the freezer for 2 hours and leave it for 5 mins to warm up then the disk works

have you tryed washing it with water i dont think it works but i do it all the time so try it

Try toothpaste for a deeper scratch
or get a plastic restorer from a car place.
Trick is the cloth should not be scratchy a sunglasses cloth or camera lens cloth is best.
Shine up and away you go.
