how to format a corrupted MMC?

my memory card is shown as corrupted.when i open memory card option in my nokia6600 mobile,it automatically says that memory card corrupted, you need to formatt memory card.when i press yes button to formatt it,it quickly says formatting complete then it asks for memory card name,i press yes for the default name memory card then it says error occured,operation cancelled. i am also not able to formatt it from memory card reader as it not able to read it.what should i do?
