hotpoint tdc 30 works for 10 seconds and trips the electric in my house?

my tumble dryer has been working perfect. we carried it thru thr house and think some water may of leaked from the plastic thingy inside?? just a guess as i forgot to empty it. it now works for about 10 seconds and trips some of the electric in the house, it was plugged in to an extension, so i have removed that and tried it in a different plug socket (without extension) has been like this now for 1 week, so i thought it would of dried out?? any suggestions greatly received.
