I want to connect my latop (for sound) to a Denon UD-M30 CD player- I've used a 3.5 mm jack from the laptop headphone out socket to what I think are the Denon's auxilliary input phono plugs - but it doesn't work. Any ideas ?
I've got the right cable to connect my laptop to my denon hifi and have plugged the red & white cable into the 'Line 2 IN' sockets at the back, but was told i then need to 'select MD' - I don't know how to select MD or even what this means and I don't know which function the denon should be on - radio or cd? Please help!

plug the white/red leads into line 2 in (the middle of the 5 inputs)
then select MD....
