Why doesn't the fabric softener go into my Bosch Maxx?

The water inlet for the fabric softner tray is blocked by silt. To fix it, remove the top of the washing machine and remove the control panel (four screws close to the detergent tray and one tiny screw at the right-hand side of the control panel). Pull the panel gently forward as there are spring clips in the top. The container for the detergent tray can be loosened and the lid of the container removed by loosening the spring clips on the sides. You will see the centre water inlet will be silted. Clean this thoroughly, preferably with high pressure water jet (for the very brave the lid can be separated into two partsfor even more thorough cleaning). Reassemble problem solved though it will recur. PS Ensure water is turned off at mains and also electricity unplugged. Not a difficult repair for somebody who is reasonably practical.
