Renault Scenic park brake light stays on when handbrake is off?

I have a renault scenic and the park brake light stays on even when handbrake is off? Can this be repaired?
Renault Scenic 04 reg, 1.5 dci 100 expression.

Park brake light is often used as an indicator for other things apart from whether the handbrake is on. You need to check the brake fluid level and top up if necessary. If thats OK then check the condition of the front brake pads, if they are excessively worn then this may the cause of the problem. Please don't take chances with brakes, if in doubt consult a technician.
