Bolens BL150 17" cut string trimmer?

i replaced the rings on bl 150,but don't understand what holds the pin in the linkage between piston rocker and crank. The bolt is like a dow and slides into reed and damaging it.

It takes about 20 feet of string I shut the string in the garage door and then unwind it to the big garage door that is about 20 feet. Then cut it.
on the string receiver that are 2 small holes put each end through one of the holes going toward the the area where the string will be wound. There is a marking that shows which way to wind the string. Wind both strands that direction after getting it centered in other word both strings the same length. Wind it till done there are slots that you can put the sting into to hold them marked .080" put the holder into the trimmer and the string through the holes in the trimmer and pull the string out of the .080 notches and screw the cap back on to hold everything in place. Cut the string to equal shorter lengths and you are ready to go. I would reccomend to get a high quality tough string that will last longer than the cheap stuff. I use a square green platinum type string that lasts a long time hth

I have owned the bl150 for 3 or 4 years now and other than forgetting the choke goes the other way to choke it, no problems at all and it does eat through some thick stuff. I normally hit the primer bulb till I feel resistance about 4 pumps pull the trigger and pull it 2 to 4 times then put it on half choke pull the trigger and pull it once or twice and it starts then I let it run about a minute or so then move it to no choke. I do find that the trigger is hard to reach so I set the idle high and do most trimming and edging without touching the throttle unless I hit some really tough stuff. I use it all the time and really give it a workout and so far it has been a great trimmer. I would say you need to dump or use all gas in any engine before putting it up for the season so it will not gum up.
