leisure 2100 sterling?

Just to expand on the question. The pilot light lights up but the full flame doesn't. I have read other posts about the flame failure device and it seems from the symptoms that this may be the problem. Would removing it and cleaning it up or trying to adjust it in some way be of any use or do I need to buy a new one.
Is it easy to fit or should I leave it to a professional.
