Approx 1 month ago the appliance switched off for no apparent reason, we vacumed the back and its worked okay since however yesterday everything in the fridge was frozen. have defrosted the fridge/freezer today, switched it back on, it does look like ice is forming again at the back of the fridge. Also noticed a contained at the back of the appliance which is half full with dirty water, should this be like this? Please advise if there is anything I can do to resolve matters. The appliance is approx 5 years old. thanks!!

WE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 4 YEARS AND EACH TIME IT COSTS £95 FOR ARISTON/HOTPOINT/INDESIT SERVICE TO REPLACE THE CONTROL BOARD.
THIS SEEMS TO FIX THE FREEZING / NOT COOLING PROBLEMS AND LASTS FOR ABOUT 15 MONTHS - JUST OUTSIDE OF THE 12 MONTH GUARANTEE, THEN IT SELF DESTRUCTS AGAIN.
JUST HAPPENED TO US AGAIN CHRISTMAS DAY - GREAT.
THE BOARD WILL FIX IT BUT KEEP AN EYE ON IT. ANYTHING UNUSAL IN THE OPERATION IN THE 12 MONTH GUARANTEE THEN GET THEM OUT TO REPLACE AGAIN!! - WISH I HAD.
