I have a citroen xantia and thats problem has happened to me before.
If you try diconnecting the battery both positive and negative cables, then re-connecting them, the car alarm will go off so make sure your key fob is working, aim at car, press top button on key, then the bottom, then wait for about 5 to ten seconds then press the top button, and everything should be fine. Just make sure you have your radio code to hand because it will reset the radio which means you will need to enter you radio code, usually found on the back of the stero, or in the manual..
