thery smell like they are burnin?

when i turn them on after 30 seconds or so they start to smell like they are burning what should i do to fix them or what is it from? HELP ME !

WHAT IS THE ITEM?
Hairdryer? hair on the heating element or the filter.
Remove rear filter and clean.
Straighteners? Unless you can see hair or fluff on them, turn them off and have them checked by an electrician.
Your backside? Too close to the fire......
