Just cleaned my Stihl 028 and adjusted the bar. I used a screwdriver to scrape along the bar slot to make sure it was clean of all debris and took off the sprocket cover and cleaned it and all areas around the sprocket with gas.
This model has a metal plate that covers the adjustment screw for the bar. I took it off and cleaned the screw and cavity it sets in. The small plastic retainer that keeps the screw straight fell out and I replaced it. Does anyone know if there are 2 retainers that fit around the adjusting screw to hold it in place or is there just one? I put the screw back in place with the retainer and placed the metal plate back on and tightened the screw that holds the plate.
I fired up the saw after reassembly and noticed that there was no oil spaying off the bar onto a spot on the ground even after 5 minutes of running.
I am concerned that the bar will get burnt without an adeqate suppy of oil.
Does anyone know why there is no oil running down the bar when using? When it was new this saw always sprayed oil on the ground when I run the saw at high speed after it warmed up.
I could not see any oil hole around the sprocket that might be plugged. There is some oil dripping out around this area but I can't find where it comes from.
NEED HELP!
