Servis M6500 1500 Spin Washer not working?

Machine is brand new and installed.
As per instructions, loaded up the machine with clothes, poured the soap powder into drawer dispenser, then closed the door shut properly, then switched the ON/OFF button on. One last step is to press the START button (there's a diamond-shaped symbol labelled on top of the button) to get the washing started. However, the green light above the START button starts blinking right after I press the ON/OFF button - its not normal is it? And the washing would never start up - machine wouldn't even fill with water - no matter how many times I press the START button. The green light above the START button just keeps blinking, and blinking... and the machine just refuses to start washing.

Is the machine faulty or was it something I didn't do?
I've checked the electricity is on, the plug is firmly in socket, the door's closed properly, programme is selected properly (this isn't the first washing machine I've used - I've used more than 6 different machines in my lifetime because I'm used to renting and moving homes!)

ive got one... you have to turn the knob to stop first then press the the on/off botton then press the the green light one... then turn the washer of. put wot wash you want then turn it on again and press the green botton then starts.. but after every wash you have to put it on stop or it wont do your next wash....HELP PLZ ON THIS WASHER. can anybody help me mine anit spinning after a wash.. so when ive done my 40cotton. i have to put it on a pump and spin.. is this normal or is it broke .as it anit even 2yrs old.but got it of a friend thanks

hi
turn the dial to stop.
then turn power on .
green light will flash once .
then turn dial to selected wash.
then press the start button.
hope this works as i had the same problem and it is fine now.!

NONE of these solutions work for me.

Has anyone had a response from Servis? I tried calling the technical line, they hung up on me twice. Pretty unimpressed.

That little flashing light is becoming my mortal enemy.

just bought, discovered info wrong way round! To run you actually push the main power button on first, then rotate knob to what cycle you require, ie. 40cotton, then tap the start button. it finally works for me. I am now trying to work out shortest wash time as the first was 2hrs, second 1hr! ps also make sure door is pressed tight. Happy washing!!!!

I have just got this washing machine brand new this week and am having the same problem yesterday took me over an hour to get it to start, I don't get it, today I just cannot get it to work. I wish I had found this out before I bought it.

Ive just got in from work and the wifes freakin` coz the washers done the same thing and my undies are pilling up. She`s been trying to get it going for hours and i`ve just got it going in 30 secs.
Here`s what you do - turn power off for ten secs - turn power on and turn dial to cold wash for 10 secs the back to 40`. hey presto.
If god had intended women to carry out tech stuff like this, he`d have given them brains.
