How do I fix my Ford Escort 1994 driver side lock?

How can I fix my Ford Escort 1994 driver side door lock?

When I put the key in the lock it doesn't turn. When I spray WD-40 into the lock I can turn the key and open the car.

What could be going wrong and how do I fix the problem.

Sounds as if the lock is worn out. if you take your key to your local ford dealer they will make a new lock to fit the key for around £30
