Sound but no picture on my philips PET700 portable dvd player?

My Philips PET700 portable DVD player has sound but no picture when DVD is "playing". How can I fix this?

look VERY carefully at the screen while playing a disk.My guess is you will be able to see very dark images - this means the back light has become faulty. If so it will need professional repair.
