POWER PROBLEM WITH DELL W2600 LCD SCREEN?

It is not the power supply unit it is definitely the I232 chip. If you freeze it it will power up and stay on but as soon as you turn it off it will not come back on. Do not know how to permanently solve this.

Does anyone know the model of Samsung TV that shares this heap of a mainboard? I've just got my board replaced with a Sammy one but the Dell remote doesn't control it or maybe the IR sensor is gone on the replacement board. Just wondered if I could find out the model of the Sammy TV then get that remote cheaply!

I have replaced the I232 chip on the Dell W2600. It takes training or self taught refow on BGA chips. I have it in my bedroom and watch i every day without a problem. Only problem i had was the wires for the +14 supply melted because of a bad socket on power supply.

Aren't we all in the same boat?. We have bought two sets of Dell W2600 model , surprisingly both TV's power supply went down same time. I called Dell, but they refused to replace the power supplyfor our TV. I say Do not buy Dell product any more. That will teach them a lesson.

I can tell you all that i have had arguments with Dell,
I have the same problem, the TV set is dead with only a relay clicking.
I found out that this rubbish (TV2600) is an LCD TV Set supplied to dell and is manufactured by Samsung.

I understand that Dell can't get parts from Samsung, so it might be an idea for everyone to write up to them

Dell in the USA are only replacing the TV's out of warranty...people in the UK have got no chance, im ringing them on a daily basis now because mine has gone but i get not luck !!

Anyone from the UK managed to get theirs swapped out for this problem ?

i232 on the main board has been found to not take when soldered at the factory. The bakeing process is suspect.
See the link below for details.

To check yours, shoot the i232 (printed on the main board) with some cold spray (electronics shops carry the product) and then plug it in and try it. Mine will work great right after shooting the chip but within a minute when it warms back up, it fails once more.

Still looking for a place who can re-solder the chip :)

Dell has become well aware of this issue and is working to resolve it in the best way possible. You will need to join the Dell.com forum and send a private message to the moderator, Dell-ChrisM. He has worked to replace many of these LCD TVs both in and out of warranty. I am having a referb shipped to me in 5-7 business days and my unit has been out of warranty since March '07.
