Mend McCulloch 2816 Throttle Cable Suggestions

How can I fix my McCulloch 2816 weedwacker throttle cable?

The darned throttle cable is broken and I wish to fix it myself. got any suggestions?

Turn the idle screw up a bit and forget about it, I've been running mine without the throttle cable for two years and it works great, kinda like cruise control!
