Mend Black & Decker GL720 B Motor Head Turn

B & D Strimmer GL720. Motor works but head won't turn?

Black & Decker Strimmer GL720. Motor works but head stopped turning. How do I check the linkage between motor and strimmer head?

It isn't just a drive belt issue on the GL720, the 'PLASTIC' drive wheel melts too, a non replaceable part as B&D don't supply. It really is junk

Oh dear stop moaning - drive belts snap, just like headlamp bulbs blow, or tyres get punctures. If you'd only used it for 2 hours then you'd get a free replacement under the B&D 2 year warranty.
To say that you'll never buy a certain product again just because a drive belt snaps is like saying 'i'll never use electricity again' after a light bulb blows!!

Same thing happened to mine. It is t abroken drive belt. Thanks to Ian for parts number

Probably a broken drive belt which has just happened to me after about 2 hours use.
I have opened the unit up (numerous screws - one hidden)
Signs of overheating on the output pulley.
Poor design - this is my last B&D power tool!
I may discuss with local trading officer!
Spare belt 477486-00 catalogued as available from B&D UK.
