sound disappers and im get hiss and crackles from my home cinima system?
i have a acoustic solutions ds-1233 home cinima system and i have a fault which occurs after i have had it turned on for 20mins to 2 hours the sound dissapears and i get cracks and hisses and then sometimes nothing, this also hiss can be heard even in standby, if i turn it of then on the next day it is ok for a while then the fault repeats, i cant see any loose connections and at the moment havnt looked for dry joints but the pcb,s look fine with no scorching etc
Sounds very much like your HC system has a fault int eh transformer. I say this because you state that its fine after a cold start but after a while the fault occurs. As the unit heats up the magnet in the transformer expands and this could cause a short which it causing the loss of sound and subsequent hiss etc.,. Has the unit been moved recently or moved whilst still warm to a cold location? the sudden change in temperature could have caused the transformer to crack.
Not something you should repair yourself unless qualified.
