Mend Hotpoint Defrost Repair Freezer

How can i fix my fridge (Hotpoint)?

In order to speed up the de-frosting of the small freezer compartment of my fridge, i chipped the compacted ice away. Unfiortunately, i have pierced the ceiling of the compatrment causing a loss of pressure. Can this be covered, and if so, will the freezer/fridge work effectively?
