Vectra 18 16v 1995, My engine keeps cutting out when i stop to give way?

Cheers for that Mike i cleaned all of the hoses and in doing so i found the the idol vavle was also not clean i sorted all of this my car is now fine Thanks alot for your help.

Your right vauxhall are not cheap.

ECOTEC engine?
If so it sounds like the crank case breathers are becoming choke with oil and dust. Quick fix is to replace these breather hoses. If you get Vauxhall to do it they have an additional mod that is supposed to prevent the oil rising into the hoses, but in true Vauxhall tradition, it isn't cheap.

I will attempt to find a link that explains this better.
