Help DC04 motor emitting blue sparks after new brushes were fitted?
Can anyone help please, after spending some time taking the dyson apart and fitting the new brushes, when the motor is switched on it now emits bright blue sparks. Any idea what is causing this and how to fix it?
once the original brushes have worn out your better off changing the complete motor at a cost of around £30-£40 the reason for new brushes emitting sparks is that the part of the motor ware the brushes run aginst (comutator) has burnt .

The motor comutator may be burnt from the old carbon brushes you could try cleaning it with some fine grade emery paper, if this does't work then you need a new motor.
