Mend Vauxhall Astra S Reg Start Please

vauxhall astra diesal estate s reg won't start! please help!!!?

hi, on the way home from taking our van for its mot and finding out its gonna cost us a fortune! OUR CAR BROKE DOWN (unlucky or what!!) it was low on diesal, so i put some in and on the way home it stalled and has'nt started again. a friend towed us home and it still would'nt start. if anyone has any ideas please please let me know. thanks in advance

Vauxhall Vauxhall Astra Vehicles, Cars S Reg Start Please

I had similar problem with Isuzu powered 1.7 TD Astra. Water contamination of my diesel (maybe a bad batch) caused engine to stall. I changed fuel filter and was OK. Old filter was disgusting and full of water! To save lots of engine cranking to bleed the fuel through, fill new filter with CLEAN fuel prior to fitting (can be messy!).
