f12 lights 1&2, communication error
f09 lights 1&4 eprom/setup error
this sounds like a main circuit board fault to me the eeprom runs the program,it is ÂŁ90 to call out an engineer from hotpoint but you have a 2 year parts warranty so the parts will be free
bearing in mind the main board is about 140.00 +vat its worth calling them out
