Panasonic NV-DS65 'Condensation' problem?

How can i stop the 'condensation symbol' appearing on my Panasonic NV-DS65? Every time I switch on, the symbol appears, the power light flashes for a short while and then powers off. I can't do anything with the camera now.

Yep hitting an NVS85B on the back also solved the condensation problem.

I hadn't used this camera for over two years. Today i searched for an answer to the problem with the condensation indicator and i found your answers.
And indeed, it works again!! Unbelievable!
Thanks!

Oh how satisfying to give a piece of hi-tech kit a good whack just as we did with the old valve radios. It worked then, it works now!

OMG it worked! I had the same problem as described. Tried hairdryer and no good. Thought I'd try a search forum and found this one. Thought hey what have I got to lose! 1 hard palm whack later and hey presto it works! I rekon the Panasonic repair centre would have charged loads for that! Thanks guy as it's saved my bacon. Recording Christmas morning possible now! Cheers.

I have just read on a help forum elsewhere. It's actually an electrical problem not a dampness one.
They say you take the battery off and give a good solid palm whack where the battery sits.
Apparently it works. Worth a go anyway.

Open the tape tray to your camera and run a hair dryer into it on low for about a minute or so from about 8 inches away. This will dry out the inside of your camera.
