hi could anyone tell where i could buy a sime boiler,i've heard they are top quality and you never get any problems with them.money is tight so i want to make sure i fit a good solid boiler.

Tom and Jerry were mint as well like! S. I. M. E. SAVILLE IS MT ENVY. Get one of these boilers. And when the sime engineer comes round which he will as all of these boilerrs are faulty, which is great! I got some quality time with a strapping man called Mark. Got my probe in his flue.

dis onybody ken fit al16 means on this sime heater.it jist keeps goin on and aff a the time.i bide in the aiberdeen area o scotland if ony o yous ken fit it could be i wid gledly appreciate yir help.the watter that comes oot mi taps is affa cloudy aswell.laters etc.............

i dinna ken fit a they boys are on aboot,sime boilers are the best on the market.excellent value for money and they give you a trouble free installation.fit them and forget them.the PCB boards are o the highest quality and the back up service you get fae the laddie fae city tech is second to none.dae yir self a favour and rush oot in buy a sime boiler the day min.ayeeeeeeeeeee

the sime eco comfort is a good boiler when it is working properly which unfortunately isn't very often.about every 7 out 10 boilers i fit need the manufacturer to come out to them in the first 2 weeks.common problems are o1,o6 fault codes.the manufacturer tries to blame install problems so they dont have to fix them as they are always so busy because of the high volume of sime breakdowns.99% of the time they have to come back as it is a boiler fault

we fit this boiler for council contract in aberdeen and it is the worst boiler I have come across in 25 years by a country mile.everything from the fan,pcb,air pressure switch,diverter valve among other things needs replaced within weeks or days of install.you could get a potterton promax for about a £100 more and have no problems at all and get at least 10 _ 15 years out of it

SIME ecomfort plus HE . Problem after problem . Intermittant hot water , CH cutting out after 10min . Installer wont return my calls , ive had plumber over 4 times , 2 parts replaced and the manfacturers are useless. I just about had enough of washing in kettles in the sink and freezing :(

Thank you Stu (Apr 2008) for the suggestion about the black tap valve on the cold water tap for increasing the pressure on my SIME boiler. Worked a treat! My pressure was nearly zero.

The problem with our Sime boiler starting up and shutting down with a bang after a few seconds was caused by the CH water filter being blocked. Where we changed some radiators, some loose bits had flowed round the system and got caught in it. We drained the boiler and cleaned the filter and it was fine.

Hi Alan

I am experiencing similar problems but only my gas pressure is low.

I have a Vaillant boiler and a few days ago it stops working, I had no hot water or heating. A Vaillant engineer came out and told me the fan was faulty. After fixing the fan he ran a few tests and told me my boiler gas pressure was extremely low at 6m bar and he will have to shut the boiler down and I will need to get an engineer to look at my pipe connecting to the boiler and the gas.

My boiler is 6 years and I am not sure if it has come to an end.

Check the air pressure in the expansion tank you have to drain the system. With no water in the system it should be about 2 bar air pressure.

If no air pressure in the expansion tank it just fills with water when the boiler starts up the water expands and has no where to except to over flow.

My problem was the valve was leaking and I replaced it with one from an old bike used a bike pump & tyre pressure gauge to check pressure in expansion tank NOTE ONLY CHECK PRESSURE WITH EMPTY SYSTEM

Then I just refilled system with water and that was that

hi, for low pressure problems you simply need to top your boiler up with water from the cold water inlet pipe.

On the cold water inlet to the boiler theres a small, usually black tap valve...it should remain off (90 degrees to pipe)....however if you have low pressure simply turn the tap on and it will bring your boiler pressure back up! the required pressure in a boiler is between 1 and 1.5bar. once you reach this correct level, turn the tap off again until the pressure drops below 1 again.
reason for a loss of pressure can be a water leak either somewhere on your internal pipework or in your boiler itself...would be good idea to get it looked at by qualified plumber!

hi alan,

just had similar with my sime boiler - not sure if same model or not, but my pressure gauge was reading high & it'd fire up for a minute then screech to a halt.

the pump turned out to be the problem - a guy came in, opened up the big screw on the front of the pump, poked a screwdriver in to free it up a bit and off it went.
