Renault Megane Expression 16v Scenic 2002?

Is this vehicle fitted with the lateral restraint systems. I have been told that anything after 2001 is, but I dont think that my vehicle does include this. I think there are only air bags in the front of the vehicle. I want to purchase a dog guard for the boot. Would appreciate an answer to the question before I do so.
Arnold Clark failed to provide me with the service booklet and handbook. Can you also tell me when the timing belt should be changed?
